Active Release Techniques Biomechanics
Our Providers have extensive training and certification in how to evaluate and diagnose a problem that is related to repetitive motion or activity. This involves an in-depth analysis of specific motions related to a specific activity, and understanding the cause of faulty mechanics related to these actions. The dysfunctions can then be addressed and treated properly for faster recovery. This can be advantageous especially with sports such as running, golf, and cross fit, and can shorten the treatment time as well as increase athletic performance.
Who Benefits From Biomechanics Evaluation?
- Marathon Runners
- Triathletes
- CrossFitt Athletes
- Weight Lifters
- Bodybuilders
- Golfers (Golf)
- Other sports dependent on repetitive movements
What To Expect
Your first visit begins with a consult and examination with your doctor, who will discuss your problem to determine its relationship to your activity. Once this has been established, he or she will have you perform the movement over and over again while they carefully observe any asymmetries or incorrect patterns in the movement. Observations usually begin by examining the core muscles first then working out to the extremities. All faulty movement patterns are noted and the associated muscle groups examined for treatment with myofascial stretching and physical therapy exercises to correct the problem. The movements are once again performed and examined for correction of the faulty pattern.
Treatments can take anywhere from 6-8 sessions and patients typically see significant improvement within the first 3 visits.
